Everything a share button needs. Nothing it doesn't.
Loads instantly
A single lightweight script, so it won't drag down your page speed or Core Web Vitals.
49 networks, one script
Facebook and WhatsApp through to Telegram, WeChat and Pocket, plus AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. Add or drop one by editing an attribute. No rebuild required.
Built-in share counts
Flip on share counts and each button carries its own tally, formatted as 12.4k, never 12,431.
Drag them into any order
Rearrange buttons right in the preview, pick a size, and show call-to-action labels, share counts, or nothing but icons.
Clean results, flexible styling, and support that actually responds quickly. More than you can say for most plugins.
Called it the best share plugin they'd used in three years: lightweight, versatile, and practical enough to stick with.
Says it's been running for years now, and still looks sharp and works exactly as it should.
Said it was exactly what they'd been searching for: easy to set up, with every option they needed. Saved it as a favorite.
Loved having simple icons, custom icon colors, a sticky bar, and sidebar placement: everything on their list, in one plugin.
Only wished the sidebar could take custom buttons too. Otherwise, light on server resources and a genuinely solid tool.
Everything else you might be wondering.
Is Simple Share Buttons free?
Yes. Every network and every option on this page is free, and so is the WordPress plugin. There is no paid tier and nothing to upgrade to.
Do I need an account?
No. Customize your buttons above, copy the two snippets, and paste them into your site. There is no sign-up, no dashboard, and no key to configure.
Which networks can I add?
49 in total, including Facebook, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Reddit, Telegram, Email and SMS, plus AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity.
Will it slow my site down?
The buttons come from one script tag marked defer, so it never blocks rendering and your content paints first. It is a single request, and you only load it once per page.
Do I need WordPress?
No. The snippets work on any site that lets you edit HTML, whatever it is built with. If you do run WordPress, the plugin installs the same buttons from your dashboard instead.
Can I show share counts?
Yes. Set Labels to Share counts and each button carries its own tally, or switch on Show total count for a combined figure alongside the row.
How do I change the buttons later?
Edit the placement code you pasted. Each button is one <span data-network="...">, so you can add, remove or reorder them by hand without touching anything else.
Where should the buttons go?
Inline buttons sit wherever you paste the placement code, usually above or below a post. Sticky buttons anchor to the edge of the screen and follow the reader as they scroll.
Simple Share Buttons has been dropping into sites since 2014. This is the same plugin, rebuilt to work anywhere, WordPress optional, not required.
